We're often asked to provide nationwide press release distribution for a book, video, catalog, service, event, seminar or product. We've combined the cost of writing the release (or you can provide the release) with the cost of distribution by wire. We call it the rapid release program and it's an excellent way to release your news quickly nationwide. The release is written in "The Associated Press" style and goes out over the wire early in the business day, which is the best time.

We're members of one of the largest wire services in the U.S. It sends out information to editors and business editors, producers and news directors and reaches hundreds of sites regionally or nationwide. Releases we submit are sent by satellite to consumer and trade magazines, and newspapers, television and radio stations and wire services throughout the U.S. The rapid release program combines our press release writing skills with our very selective wire service distribution.

how the wire service works
There are two ways in which the media receives press releases electronically from the wire service. By high speed printers in which the press release is automatically printed out, or into their sophisticated computer terminals in which they would review the press release headline and print out only the company name and the headline. Or they may print only one to three paragraphs of the press release to see if they can use it. It is always stored in the databases for many months for future use.

usual fees
We usually charge $395 to write a 200 to 400-word press release in "The Associated Press" style. For that fee, we do quite a bit of work to help maximize the placement of your news item. That fee includes writing the press release and preparing the copy. It doesn't include printing, mailing, or any wire charges. Wire services charge us a fee as members to put your release on the wire. They also charge us for the type and number of sites we choose. Since you don't have to mail the release, you save hundreds of dollars in postage and printing costs.

The rapid release program gives you in A.P. Style a single price for a nationwide release: only $795. For that one-cost fee, we'll write your release and carefully select the sites on the regional or nationwide circuits. You'll need to send us a copy of the book, video or product, fliers, press releases, promotional pieces, a short biography of the author and ordering information. Also enclose a sheet of your letterhead. Or we can send the press release you provide of 400 words or less for only $595. You can fax it to us. If more than 400 words -- call for cost. If you are sending us your press release, it should be in A.P. style and the headline should accurately describe the contents of the press release. Include payment with order.
