Lightning in Reverse

Weather the heavily shaken obsession.
Bend to its keening desire to break free.
Hasten to need its entire object lesson.
Lend immense length that you listen to me
rapt in timelessness-long white absorption:  A doorway,
a faint blaze of clarity:  standing within
that bicrescent lune-aureole, gathering stormy
electric amazement by magnetic skin,
then arcing it forward, it meets you in—whispers.
Murmurs.  It lowers its voice to your scale.
Heaviness lightens and rises.  The hiss of
its passage, its angle—you turn yourself pale
as you lean with your following eyes and then leap with
insightful abandon.  Forever—more long
that forever’s own memory—we will have reaped this
bright instant’s uncanny live harvest of song.
