The black rubber trim on the bottom was quite interesting. It looks like the shell was dipped in the rubber then trimmed to the squared shape. There were some shells where some of it had seeped under the seam of the original white wrap. I used a small screw driver to pry a small section on the outside loose, then used my fingers to carefully pry it the rest of the way off. I did end up with a couple of rips right down the center whwere the bearing edge would be where it was the thinnest.
