The Oregon Department of Forestry project is located on the Department’s compound in Salem, Oregon. New construction will include two buildings; the Operations Building at 34,278 sf and the Public Service Building at 18,682 sf.
Both buildings are structural steel framed with metal stud walls. Standing seam metal roofs with stained cedar siding will grace both structures, as these elements will assist in incorporating the new buildings with the existing compound.
Interior finishes will include exposed steel and wood roof deck, utilizing the recycled timbers taken from the demolished structures. All electrical conduit is placed above the roof decking to achieve the open, airy feel. A large percentage of the open office areas are designed to utilize natural air ventilation from the high roof window louvers. Interior finishes will reflect the tenant by emphasizing natural products.
