This
care unit is devoted to geriatric rehabilitation and is located
on the 6th floor of Salem Hospital. While the entire wing was
closed for the extensive remodel, the patients were relocated
directly below the entire wing. The vast remodeling of all bathrooms
involved cutting into the floor for plumbing access. The patients
on the 5th floor felt no impact on their care, rest or safety
with the tenant improvement in process above them. Since the HVAC
was tied into the entire building, “clean air” protocols
were imperative during the three-month project.
