SAFETY

Our workers compensation rates and our experience modification ratings have consistently remained competitive. Our experience mod. for 2002 is .62. Since the size of a company’s payroll has a significant impact on experience mod. rating, this is an excellent rating for a similar sized company. A perfect modifier for a company of our size would be .54. We have received certificates from AGC in recognition of a loss ratio below 10% for the past four years.

In 2003, our company received two prestigious safety awards recognizing our level of commitment to safety. The Oregon Columbia Chapter of the AGC presented us with the ROSE Award (Recognition of Safety Excellence) in the category of General Contractor Building 100,000 – 500,000 hours. We were then honored at the 2003 Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety & Health (GOSH) Conference for Employer – Medium Employer Award. We are extremely privileged to be the recipients of two such esteemed accolades.

The Project Superintendent at each job site will be responsible for the safety at their project. They will prepare fall protection programs, administer weekly safety meetings, and are authorized to issue safety violations to subcontractors and our own craftspeople. Our Superintendents take safety seriously and we empower them to ensure the safety of our job sites.

LCG Pence Construction, LLC’s Safety Committee is comprised of a combination of field and office employees. This group bridges the gap between the field and the office. The Safety Committee reviews safety concerns from the field, makes safety proposals to management, and carries the responsibility to both reward and discipline the field staff. The Safety Committee most recently instituted a zero tolerance fall protection policy. Upon request, we will provide a complete copy of our Safety Policy.

LCG Pence Construction, LLC’s safety incentive program acknowledges our employees’ safety records with safety awards. We have many employees who have over 20,000 safe hours.

LCG Pence Construction, LLC is a drug free company, and mandatory drug tests are required prior to hire. Our testing program also includes random on the job testing. We are committed to providing safe, drug free craftspeople to our customers.
