Purpose
The Clatsop County Genealogical Society’s purpose is to aid individuals to begin, develop and improve genealogical pursuits.

Objectives
• To create and foster an interest in genealogy.
● Gather and preserve genealogical and historical data, particularly with regard to ancestors and founders
and early settlers of our country.
• Aid individuals in genealogical research and
compilation of family histories.
• To establish and maintain a genealogical library
through contributions and exchanges.

Clatsop County Genealogical Society’s
Genealogical Library
Our Library is now located in the Clatsop County Heritage Museum located at 1618 Exchange Street, Astoria, Oregon.
Hours: Tues-Friday 10AM-Noon/1PM to 3PM
The Museum is open Sat & Sun
Please note that our Library is NOT open
on Saturday or Sunday.  If you would like to visit the Genealogical Library and have the assistance of
someone from our society, please make an appointment by contacting us at seashells@pacifier.com.    Please
include your name, and a few choices of days and times when you can visit our library.  Please be patient for a response
because we are all volunteers. Thank you!

Programs & Workshops
Our Program Chairman does an outstanding job of scheduling speakers and organizing workshops designed to aid all genealogists in their pursuit of family history.

Queries
At this time, our society is unable to offer “Look-Up” services to those wishing to augment their family history data.  Unfortunately, our membership numbers are declining and at this time we do not have the manpower to support a “Look-Up” service.  We hope this situation improves in the near future.  We suggest you send a query to the Clatsop County Historical Society and perhaps they can help you.
