Cincinnati, Ohio
A unique feature
of this one is that my husband Jim used to live in it back when he
was a teenager in the late 1970s!

Omaha,
Nebraska
Check out THIS
gorgeous example of a "Second Empire" style!! On 10th St.
in Omaha. I almost fainted as we drove by it. I never get to
see houses like these in person! I'd love to know the history of it.
If it was ever a single-family home? It's an apartment building now,
not in the best of shape, either.

Sacramento,
California
Get ready for
THIS spectacular one! It's the "Governor's Mansion" which
I had heard of before, but didn't know the address of, but luckily stumbled
across it. It was built in 1877. Unfortunately for Schwartenegger, it
stopped housing the governor in the 1960s (I'd run for governor of CA
myself ONLY if I could live here!!) Now it's a museum which gives tours
daily, but only until 4pm, and unhappily, we were driving through town
too late!

Los Angeles, California
This is the
only one of its kind I'm aware of in the Los Angeles area. Although
it is named the "Valley M. Knudsen Garden Residence," it
was never her house or home. It was named to give recognition to an
Eagle Rock woman who did much to beautify Los Angeles. It's located
at the "Heritage Square" museum - more info can be found
on the "museums" page. It's estimated
to be from 1880 and was It was moved from Johnston Street to Heritage
Square in 1971.
