Please continue to urge your Commissioners and Planning Commission representatives to preserve the quality of Crystal Springs and all other public water systems by eliminating any resort siting within public water supply source areas.

Contrary to published reports, the majority of the Cooper Spur Resort forest service permit ski area properties do lie within the OR Health Department certified zone of contribution for the Crystal Springs Water supply. The existing downhill ski area, lift and rope tows are outside the certified zone of contribution. (http://www.eastfk.com/crystal)

The installation of filtration or treatment facilities to restore fuel-, septic- and chemically-contaminated water for domestic use will cost up to $3 million plus operation costs. All costs may, of course, be paid by Crystal Springs customers.
