Vancouver, WA   -  Siskin  (??? Eurasian)

I got a call from Eric Bjorkman this morning. He had a number of Siskins show up yesterday on Thursday, Feb. 24 as we did in our part of town. He noticed one of them was different. I rushed over to see this birds and it was definitely different than our usual Pine Siskins.

It was very defensive about its position at the thistle feeder and would flare its wings and tail showing the bright yellow pattern often.

These photos were taken with a digital camera through the sliding door. Both Eric and I took slides but they will take days to get back.

We need your expert help on correctly identifying this Siskin. Wilson Cady and my husband Arden were both working and we could not locate
Ken Knittle.
