Perhaps a Butterfly

Alan P. Scott - Verses

after Chuang-tzu

I awakened from a dream,
certain that I was not dreaming.

I fell asleep, insisting
that I was not done with the day.

I know I do not know myself,
but sometimes I forget.

I dream I am a butterfly,
but sometimes I'm the net.
