A not-very-likeable man doing not-very-likeable things becomes a tragic hero, and it happens essentially by accident. Like the later Boogie Nights (recommended viewing in its own right), this film about porn has very little actual pornography in it. However, if First Amendment court battles give you a hard-on, this is definitely the film for you.
