Let me quickly summarize our drive from Chicago to Indianapolis. There was this field...

2.jpg
...then there was this field with some grass in the middle...

3.jpg
...then there was this amazing field with trees in the background!

4.jpg
More surprising, the city of Indianapolis was really nice. There are lots of museums and historic buildings as well as the capitol (oh the RCA Dome is on the right too).

5.jpg
Look at the nice arrangement of the seats. I call this the "opera" configuration because the "hanging" seats remind me of an opera house. Even the corner seats had good views.

6.jpg
And the box seats are nicely placed between the lower and upper sections instead of under the roof where you can't see anything. They even have nice seats out in front.

7.jpg
Look, there's Adia again! And that, that, other guy. Chad? Mitch?

8.jpg

9.jpg

10.jpg
Here's my "night vision" shot.

11.jpg

12.jpg

13.jpg

14.jpg

15.jpg
Tammy Sutton-Brown wastes no time finding the empty space our defense leaves under the basket.

16.jpg

17.jpg

18.jpg

19.jpg
Steal by Sue.

20.jpg

21.jpg
Tully tearing through...

22.jpg

23.jpg
...and she misses her shot...

24.jpg
...but since none of our players are under the basket, Sutton-Brown has no problem rebounding and finishing the shot.

25.jpg
Steal by Izzy.

26.jpg

27.jpg
More good defense by the Storm although Izzy was flirting with a foul here.

28.jpg

29.jpg

30.jpg

31.jpg

32.jpg

33.jpg
Oh yeah, this was right after LJ's technical. Sue tries her usual job of convincing Eric Brewton that it didn't happen...

34.jpg
...however he walks away unconvinced! How rude!

35.jpg
Now Sue checks with AD to see if she should keep on pressing their case...

36.jpg
...Sue gets the go-ahead so she cracks her knuckles and cranks the Sue Bird Charm up to maximum...

37.jpg
...Eric however is no fool. He knows that if he turns toward her even for a moment, he will succumb to its power.

38.jpg
Good defense by Katie. Of course our offense was busy tying a WNBA record.

39.jpg

40.jpg
Look out! Incoming Tully...

41.jpg
...wait, nevermind she's OK. The chair saved her...

42.jpg
...ughf, cheap Conseco chair gives way and Tully hits the floor.

43.jpg

44.jpg

45.jpg
If you're going to foul, make sure they don't get the shot off.

46.jpg
Again AD talking to Katie with her arms extended. I hope she's not getting into trouble here.

47.jpg
If AD's advice to her was to play better defense then AD should have been happy after blocking this shot...

48.jpg
...and the bench sees one good thing in this dreary second quarter.

49.jpg

50.jpg

51.jpg

52.jpg

53.jpg
K.B. has this cool basketball heart tattoo.

54.jpg
Sue is trying to finger the ball out of her hands to Katie. This is such a cool defensive move but can look like a reach-in to dumber WNBA officials.

55.jpg

56.jpg

57.jpg

58.jpg

59.jpg

60.jpg
Thank God! The second quarter is over. Now we just have to make another 20+ point comeback like we did with Houston.

61.jpg
So let the 20+ point comeback begin.

62.jpg
Indiana has no less than three performance groups. They have the hip-hop squad pictured here, a generic dance group, and they keep the NBA Pacesetters employed over the summer too.

63.jpg

64.jpg

65.jpg

66.jpg
The third quarter got off to a firey start with Sue making a couple of great baksets.

67.jpg

68.jpg
It seems that the rookie ref is immune to the Sue Bird Charm too.

69.jpg

70.jpg

71.jpg

72.jpg

73.jpg

74.jpg

75.jpg

76.jpg

77.jpg

78.jpg

79.jpg

80.jpg

81.jpg

82.jpg

83.jpg

84.jpg
But after this game... not so much.

85.jpg

86.jpg
OK this game sucks. That means it's time for gratuitous shots around the bench.

87.jpg

88.jpg

89.jpg

90.jpg

91.jpg

92.jpg

93.jpg

94.jpg
Yeah, coulda gone better.

95.jpg
Forget the game. Check out the cool Conseco Fieldhouse! They remind you of that race track, the Indy something or other.

96.jpg
More racing exhibits.

97.jpg
When you get through the front door, you find yourself in this enormous lobby that is nicer than in many hotels.

98.jpg
What you're looking at is practially a museum of basketball in Indiana. Clearly they take this sport seriously!
